This years Paul Nunn Memorial Lecture is a double billing not to be missed. Regularly to be seen together on the rock, now hear Tim Emmett and Leo Houlding from behind the podium at this years lecture.

Lets Have It

In 1994 Tim and Leo met in bar in North Wales. Leo, just 14 years old and sporting 10 A's at GCSE, decided to ditch school in search of a career as a professional climber. In the years to come the pair repeated some of the hardest climbs in the area and put up numerous first ascents too. One evening, accompanied by Chris Wentworth, armed with two and half head torches and numerous cans of Beer. Tim set off on a night time ascent of Right Wall. Leo always looking to do one better decided to climb Lord of the Flies, only to find his headtorch failing as he started the crux! The pair then went on to climb Right Wall in their trainers. Always looking to push the boundaries of their predecessors Tim and Leo then took up BASE jumping. This time in pursuit of a totally new game "Para Alpinism". Perhaps best known for beating Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear where Leo and Tim raced him to the top of Verdon Gorge, and then BASE jumped to victory at the bottom, this lecture looks into the lives of two of the UK's most colourful characters.
