Hi all,
I’m due to be taking a trip sport/trad climbing to Europe soon. But I’m wondering if my 60L rucksack will stand up to the abuse the baggage handlers put things through etc. I’m concerned things like the lightweight buckles may get broken etc.
I’ve got a Mountain Technology – Rannock 60L. Obviously is not lockable and I’m concerned about it possibly spilling its contents in transit. My other thought is to by a kit bag/holdall, but a holdall won’t be as nice to carry into the crags. I’ve weighed my bag and it comes to just shy of 20kg fully loaded. I might have to slim the gear down a bit.
Looking for suggestions & advice.
Cheers

Anyone able to offer advice or an opinion?
In reply to Confused Chimp: I tend to strip down my climbing rucksack so I can use it as hand luggage, and then take a bigger kitbag as hold luggage. It's nice to have a sturdy waterproof kit bag.

Having said that, I've not had a problem with rucksacks in the hold getting damaged, but it is quite a pain having to sort out all the straps and putting them through as over-sized/fragile luggage.
