I got a call yesterday from a friend saying ‘Hey Dave it’s the Leo Holding Lecture tonight, are you going?’ I’d forgotten all about it, but luckily my mate had a spare ticket!

We arrived early to get good seats (& pop in for a pint). As we walked into the lecture hall, we were met by the man (youth) himself, he told us that the turnout for the lectures had not been great, so no need to baggesy seats!

In total about 20 people turned up. This didn’t include ‘Blacks’ one of the sponsors who were meant to be on door/ticket duty!
In my 20 years of climbing, I’ve been to many lectures, this was easily the best (sorry Don).

- Enthusiasm just pores out of him

- The climbing’s ‘just out there’!

- 1st class ‘true’ pictures, not posed for the camera.

- His purist views are spot on

- Very funny

- The ‘wow’ and ‘jaw dropping’ exploits he gets up to are awesome (200‘ freefall jump onto a single rope from the top of El Cap).

Go and see one of Britain’s top young climbers, there’s still 9 dates left.
I was very impressed, you will be!
