I recently ordered a Petzl Altios Helmet from an online retailer.
When it arrived it was missing the adapter plate for the headlamp. So I email F&T to complain and their response is send it back at your expense and if we think its faulty we'll pay back the postage etc. I tell them that it isn't faulty and I just want the part that is missing. They say that the part isn't available, send back at my expense etc....
By contrast, a message to the UK Petzl distributor, Lyon Equipment, and I get an email confirming that it should have been included, they've ordered one from Petzl and if I let them have my address then they'll put it in the post.
