HI,

Planning to walk up Scafell Pike next week and was wondering if trainers are ok?

Thanks

In reply to climberkid: I wear merrels unless im alpine/winter climbing... personal preference, if its pissing it down you'll get wet feet.

I dont see why there would be a massive problem to be honest, fell runners are running around in basically glorified Nike's!

If you get blisters and soaked feet, you'll only make the mistake once !

It's like the moon up on Scafell (not that I have ever been to the moon lol) you may want some toe protection that boots provide but in the dry trainers should be fine apart from that. You will get the old ramblers shaking their heads at you but in good weather I can't see a problem, I wear inov-8 trail boots in the summer which are basically trainers with toe and ankle protection. Tricky to nav if the mist is down but it's a great mountain
Enjoy

Ben
