In reply to cliffrad: Hi Cliff, most useful suggestion is to do a search on here as this is covered about once a month!
Fairly big place and travel times can be slow so depends on transport etc, but Castle Hill is well worth a trip. Cragging round Wanaka and Q'town and plenty of boudering (comparatively busy areas over Christmas / New Year but weather good and not exactly Stanage on a bank holiday).
Alpine multipitch at Twin Stream, etc etc. The NZAC has excellent guidebooks which are well worth the cost.
