i am planning on climbing NE face via Cassin route on Monday 23 August
does anyone know what the snow conditions are like

Are you hoping for an early winter ascent? You might just get it if the season continues as it was when we were there!

how long since you were there? as i am also heading out to bregaglia on sunday, with the intention of doing the cassin next week. not feeling to optimistic now!

We did the cassin on the 9th - conditions were pretty good. Little bit of snow & ice in the exit chimneys.
(Weather looked like it was about to crap out when we left the area on the 11th. not sure what weather's been up to since...)
