Reading Climbing Centre opened it's door last Thursday, with all top rope and lead lines set and ready to go! The centre has been a great success so far, and we thank everyone who has been in for a climb or a visit in the last week.

Climbing shop specialists Urban Rock are opening on site on Monday October 4th to service all your kit and clothing needs, and the fantastic Picnic cafe have moved onto our mezzanine to provide top quality coffee, snacks and meals to keep you hungry climbers going!

As Walltopia finished our main wall earlier than planned, our bouldering is still to be finished. We are expecting half the bouldering wall to be open on October 19th, and for it to be fully matted and complete by the end of the month.

We will be introducing new multi-buy passes this week and announcing dates for winter events very soon.

We hope to see you all soon for a climb!

I dropped in on Staurday - it looks good.
For comparison with other walls in the area - there are no moulded panels.

Can you provide a couple of auto belays please?

thanks

In reply to iani:
Ian,
Its unlikely Reading will have autobelays installed. They had done so in Manchester but were removed before long.
There have been a few issues with autobelays and walls seem to be avoiding them.

Don't want to cause any problems/arguments concerning the use of autobelays, just want to let you know that its unlikely to happen in Reading.

All the best,
Ojas
