Whats the best stuff to do the above then folks. The jacket in question is quite old and is starting to let rain seep thru !!

In reply to Newbuild100: i use nikwax tech wash, then nikwax re-proof for goretex....works fine for me!
In reply to Newbuild100:
Nikwax Tech Wash to clean the jacket, and then wash through again using TX Direct (as suggested by snailonvalium), or alternatively use the spray on TX Direct (this is the best method for 3 layer jackets as it doesn't impair any breathability)

However, you've said that water is seeping through into the jacket. This would only happen if the membrane (Goretex I'm guessing) is starting to perish, or the taped seams are failing. No amount of re-proofing will solve this and it sounds to me like you should think about replacing the jacket.

In reply to Newbuild100: You seem to be re-proofing all your gear.

Nowadays most manufacturers have cleaning/re-proofing advice on their websites
