£500 up for grabs - Jagged Globe ShAFF Shorts Video Competition

It's a first for the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival (ShAFF). A short video competition - open to everybody - with £500 up for grabs provided by ShAFF sponsors Jagged Globe.

£300 for the winner, £150 for second place and £50 for third place.

The Brief (with details of exactly how to enter in bold):

* Produce a 3 minute (max) short film on adventure or adventure sport. It must be an original, and not something already posted online.
* All entrants are encouraged to make HD videos as we will be screening selected entries in HD at the festival.
* All films will be hosted on the ShAFF and Jagged Globe sites via Vimeo.
* All films must include the official HD image, detailing the competition, embedded into the start of the film. This, and an email to shaffshorts@shaff.co.uk with a url to the Vimeo link for the film will act as the official submission. Please ask for this image and we will send it to you.
* All entrants are judged by the ShAFF judges. Closing date for entry is Feb 14th 2011. Those selected for screening at the festival will be contacted on the 14th and will have 1 week to submit their HD video to us using our Yousendit Dropbox (details only supplied if selected).
* We will then prepare the show-reel for the festival.
* Selected videos will be screened between 19.30 and 21.00 on Friday 4th March 2011. They will be presented by Andy Kirkpatrick. The top three will be chosen by a combination of ShAFF judges an ausience clap-o-meter so get your mates along if you can.
* An important note about music rights. It is your responsibility to make sure that any music used in the films/s is properly licenced or licence-free. Entry into the competition assumes that you have done this. For more information please see the PRS website. If you are struggling to find royalty free music try Jamendo.
* Please also make sure that you have the permission from any people appearing in the film for them to be there!
* ShAFF and Jagged Globe retain the right to use any videos submitted to the competition for their own purposes.
* While the odd logo or bit of product placement will be tolerated we won't accept blatant advertisements.

The Sheffield Adventure Film Festival takes place 4 - 6 March 2011.
