Well I'm trying to decide which mountaineering axe to buy, and have narrowed it down to these two.

Both have a T rated shaft, both are available in the length I want and both come from reputable makes. I've found them at similar prices so that doesn't help decide.

I think I prefer the feel of the drop forged head of the Brenva rather than the welded one of the Cirque, although the Cirque seems to be the more popular, having heard recommendations from more people.

So any recommendations or considerations to help me decide?

In reply to petestack: yeah I guess so - don't have much preference so looking for anything that'll help swing me one way or the other..

Any thoughts on the curve of the shafts (the Cirque being more curved)?

Nope... they'll both do (as would a straight shaft) and both good axes, so really go with whatever you prefer!
