Hi, recently bought a Black Diamond Icon headtorch with the NRG NiMH Rechargeable battery pack for it.

Was wondedring what the performance of the Nickel battery was like in cold, high altitude environments compared to more tested Lithium? Guess there must be a reason behind using Nickel instead of Lithium.

In reply to tompilgrem: Could be to do with lithium have a low consolidiation point, 162'C. As you go high that tempreature would decrease by a large
amount, and liquid lithium is nasty stuff. This isn't fact, just an uneducated guess. Just for refference Nickel's consolidation point is ~1700'C.
