Hi

Looking for a small 20-25L light backpack this is my top choice at the moment:
http://www.arcteryx.com/Product.aspx?EN/Mens/Packs/Cierzo-25#20L_To_40L
415grams for a 25L pack is pretty good and it has dual axe mounts.

Any one with expirience with the pack out there?

Or suggestions to other packs?
cheers

yep. not this years model but last years.

nice and light, fairly tough if its just for alpine.
ive managed to fit gear for 4 days in winter (alpine climbing) in it with the rope under the lid and mat on the outside.
the new version doesnt have the same compression system so wont do that without modification.

i replaced the bivvy mat with something more useable (chopped down bi of z-rest) and have been considering slicing the lid off for this winter (and retro-fitting it with buckles).

as a light ascent pack is fine. not great for heavy loads as it has zero suspension.
black diamond as a similar weight 26L pack thats a bit more featured tho a zip lid. also worth considering.

OK seems like it fits what I am after, I have a Osprey mutant 38 for those longer routs, buts its too big and bulky to climb really technical with.

Have you thought about the speed?

Really is an excellent sack, take the lid off and it is better. I know it is heavier but it really doesnt feel heavy at all when loaded on your back.

I don't know if it is just me, but I never feel that 400 odd grammes makes the slightest bit of difference in anything I've done be it alpine climbing, mountaineering or plain old multi pitch.
I suppose it has something to do with body weight etc, I am 6ft 3 and 16 stone so half a kilo added to my lard ain't a lot!

Not every ones cup of tea but I got The Blue Ice Warthog it's a bit heavy but a bombproof great sack.

I think Dane (cold thistle) did a review of the pack on his blog.

Good luck with your choice
