I have in my possession an old and rather worn pair of F2 feet. Can anyone advise me on whether I could get away with wearing B3 boots with these, and,if so, would I need to upgrade from C1 crampons?

In reply to Robert Durran: I have arthritis in my toes. None of them move upwards now, so I reckon I have F3 feet. If I sharpen my toe nails I can do without boots and crampons!

In reply to Robert Durran: It's ok to wear any crampons on B3 boots as long as they fit properly. Wearing B2 boots with say C3 crampons is a bad idea.

In reply to Paulinho:
I have an arthritic T3 big toe on my right foot due to be fused - but all my other toes are T1.
Its a problem in rock shoes never mind boot crampon interfaces.

Wonderful! just the sort of thing out of which I was taking the piss!
He didn't even realise that the issue is the foot/boot interface rather than the crampon/boot interface......

It's all about the face-palm interface.
