Hi all,

What is the descent alongside Little Narrowcove to the south east of Scafell Pike and Broad Crag???

Is it normally poor quality scree and then very wet ground in normal conditions??

As of this weekend just gone how much snow cover is there over this route?

How low is the current snow level?

I am not looking at doing any climbing, just a walk.

Really appreciate any advice from fellow UKCers.

Cheers,

AT

In reply to An Triubhas: If you mean down Little Narrowcoce itself there is a good track with the only scree right up at the top. Its a nice way down. If you mean the SE ridge above the cove (Pen etc) then scree....wet...and very steep in a series of steps. You can pick a way down it but you will end up diving off into the cove anyway, so why not walk all the way down that.

As for snow, sorry cant help you there...not quite in view from Devon

In reply to Wainers44:

Thanks for that. I meant the cove itself and not the ridge.

Thanks again!!!

Down almost to Great Moss
Though obviously thin at that level.

I didn't get as far as Scafell Pike, but descending from Bowfell on Saturday, the snow was about a foot deep - crampons/axe not needed, but could well be by now.
