Hi,

Has anyone had any recent experience with taking a liquid fuel stove (e.g Primus Omnifuel) on a plane?

Thanks

Dan

In reply to Daniel Duerden:
Make it as clean as you can. Don't take any fuel. Bury it in your hold baggage.
In reply to Andy Say:

Do you need to declare it with the airline?

In reply to Daniel Duerden: Obviously fuel itself is not allowed. Try doing a forum search as lots of advice and experience has been posted on this subject.

Only if the plane is on a treadmill.

Seriously though, clean it to the point that it no longer smells of fuel and put it in your hold luggage.

In reply to Daniel Duerden: I took an omni fuel on a plane. Just clean it take no fuel, and stash it in your pack

In reply to Daniel Duerden:
Clean the stove - disassemble and leave outside for a bit pref in sun or somwhere warm for fuel to evaporate.
clean fuel bottles with soapy water and rinse well - leave tops off bottles in bag - proves there is nothing in them and you have made an effort to clean when going through x ray. seems to work

Sensible advice. You just have to be meticuluous to the point of anal and store in hold luggage quadruple bagged. And buy your fuel at your destnation.

Thanks for all the advice.
