New Beacon Climbing Centre Time Lapse Movie!

Construction of the new Beacon Climbing Centre is well under way and we currently have a camera installed within the main room taking a still image every 15 minutes.

We've put together a time lapse movie so you can check out for yourself exactly how work has been progressing on the new climbing centre. Construction is almost complete on the 15m high IFSC Speed Climbing Wall (left hand wall in the movie) and the steel framework is currently being installed for the main lead climbing wall (back wall in the movie).

Great to hear another 'official' speed wall will be available in the UK. A 19 year old Italian chap called Leonardo climbed the 15m world record format speed route at Ratho on Sunday in 6.57 seconds. Not bad going for a route which is 6c in itself, and for which the senior world record is 6.26! It was amazing to see and terrifying to belay!
