Martin Kocsis, BMC 22 May 2012
The last area meeting before the summer break takes place on Wednesday 30th May at the Alpine Club on Charlotte Street (not far from Old Street tube). The format follows the usual: doors open at 7pm, and we’ll start with an update on what’s going on in the BMC and an opportunity to find out more or have your say.

Some (free) food will be provided, and (not free) beer is available from the bar.

At 8.30pm, Rob Adie will be giving us a presentation. Rob is the BMC Comps and Walls Officer, but he also tries to go mountaineering and climbing a bit as well. He will be talking about two trips he has made recently that were both very successful, but for very different reasons. The first was a 4 week trip to the Ruth Gorge in Alaska, the second being an attempt on Broad Peak in Pakistan, come and listen to an alpine punter moan for an hour or so about how hard Alpine and Himalayan climbing is and how it would be much easier if he was actually any good at climbing!

For more information, including directions, or to just to make sure you get to know what’s going on in your area of the BMC, see our facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/BMCLondon

If you don’t like Facebook you can look on the BMC community site here: http://community.thebmc.co.uk/Event.aspx?id=2638

Area Chair
