In reply to redwitch: More info needed! Budget? Skills? Experience? Kid's age?

'pends on what you're after. We ski in the Maurienne (Val Cenis, Aussois, Bonneval sur Arc, Sybelles)each year - quiet resorts and slopes, virtually no queues and cheaper accommodation and passes. We drive there each time too.
In reply to redwitch: Would agree that the Maurienne can't beat for a family holiday.

St Foy, France

Quiet, excellent pistes and off-piste. Family orientated.

In reply to redwitch: Avoriaz ?? Big ski area and new swimming pool complex ?

Try La Tania in the 3 valleys, you get the whole 3 valleys experience, but at a much better rate than if you stayed in courcheval or meribel or val thorens. It offers self catering, chalets and hotels!
