In reply to andy: Driving for a week-end in Cham is a bit much (driving time), and you would have to fill the car to make the cost of ferry, fuel and tolls economical. See how cheap a flight you can get into Geneva, which is an easy drive away. You can be in Cham about three hours after leaving London or wherever, so you would get *much* more time in Cham than if you drove. You can take public transport from Geneva if you don't want to drive a car. If you do fly to Geneva, get to the French side ASAP (which can be awkward), because Switzerland tends to be astronomically expensive.
