Hi, I was walking on the path round Sil Mhr (Beinn Eighe) on Saturday 12th Jan when I twisted my ankle on a rock and sprained it really badly.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone I met on my 2-hr hobble back to the Ling hut, as you noticed me hobbling and made sure I had enough bandages, painkillers, etc before you walked on. I have to say, a combination of walking poles and co-codamol does wonders! Your concern and offers of first-aid kit were greatly appreciated.

It turns out I'd torn a tendon and a ligament in my ankle, and it's going to take a while to recover, which means I'm out of the hiking game for a wee bit, but at least I didn't break any bones, and I got back safely.

In reply to ZoeOConnor: Ouch!

Nice to hear there are still some genuinely nice folk out there.

Hang in there, you'll be back out soon enough, just don't rush it :)

Take your time, do the physio, and you'll make a full recovery. The months will pass surprisingly quickly...
