In reply to dutybooty: meteo suisse has the daytime 0 isotherm at 4000m today and then dropping to 3500 or 3600m for the next week - often these conditions promote a good night refreeze and soft snow in the afternoons. The forecast upper air temps are not really warm enough over the Alps this week for a stupid heatwave, ie no night refreeze etc so I'd expect more classical summer conditions for the next few days with night refreeze and afternoon softness.
