Off there next week. Is the citizens passport free when staying in the valley? We'll be at one of the campsites in Saas Grund? Does it get you free lift access or do you have to purchase the Saaspass as well? Thanks.

I can't remember all the terminology but the "free" lift pass comes with the visitor tax of 2-3 SFR per day. Great value, just ask at the Campsite for the details. I could be wrong but I seem to remember the Saas Pass as something else that wouldn't be required.

Yeah if you stay at Camping Mischabel or the other one you'll get one.

I've heard it doesn't cover the Mittelallalin this year though, which is s shame.

I'm off to Tasch next week. Do you know if the scheme covers that area?
Will I be able to get free uplift for any of the areas if i'm staying there?

Yeah, I've just checked... The passport includes all lifts bar one (Metro Alpine).

If you intend to use the Metro Alpine (ie Climb Allalinhorn or Alphubel) you will need to pay the extra 5sfr a day for the Saas-pass. It's unclear if you can wangle it such that you only pay the extra on the days you need to use the Metro Alpine but even if not the complete cost of unlimited up/down lift (and valley buses) is still great value.

Would be nice, wouldn't it? No, it's specific to the Saastal.
