So me and a friend are heading to Chamonix at the start of August for 3 weeks and were hoping to clear a few things.

Got flights sorted to Geneva, what's the best way to get to Chamonix? Looking at 51 euro return for the shuttle bus, any other options?

Where top stay in Chamonix? Any cheap youth/normal hostels? Campsites?

Any advice would be awesome!

In reply to euanryan: was out there a couple of weeks ago we stayed at the Ile Des Barratts camp site. 17.50 euros for 2 persons per night. Nice clean friendly site. About 5 minutes walk to Midil lift. We used Cham Van for transfers I think about 28 euros per person each way, reliable service.

Roughly 55 euros for a week for one person with a small tent. Very nice site and plenty of Brits (if that's your kind of thing).
