A friend has asked me to go out to the Alps (not sure where yet, any suggestions?) and do some climbing with him for his birthday around the 15th of September. We both completed the Conville alpine into course in Chamonix earlier the year.

Am I right in thinking that this date would be past the end of the summer season and that we may struggle with the weather / lifts being open?

Any advise much appreciated.

In reply to aldo56: Most lifts and huts stay open until the end of September. Best to check specifically, but you should have few problems.

The weather could be anything from sublime to horrendous.
