Can anyone recommend a guidebook for alpine plants suitable and easy to use for a trainee IML? I have previously heard of a small flip book? Please PM me any suggestions.

In reply to D.Andrew: The Swiss alpine club do one (in English), "Our Alpine Flora", which is very good. Quite detailed.

If you have a smartphone, there's a wildflowers app produced by a couple of French chaps you might find quite helpful 'on the move' - I use it in the UK, but it would be more suited to IML than SML as it's fairly euro-centric in its use of popular names and so on. Useful tool nonetheless.
