Bracken and sheep wool

Bracken has been mentioned on this site several times recently, mostly how to get rid of it.
Lakeland rough fell sheep have fleece that is too wire like (stiff) for clothes so is used mainly for wall insulation. Hill farmers can sometimes only get less per fleece than it cost to them to shear the sheep.
So here is a new idea.

It seems wrong to me to dig wool back into the soil.

BTW, as I understand it most if not all wool that is sheared in the UK sells for less than the cost of shearing it. Crazy.

They have to be sheared for health reasons, by law I think. So why not use the almost worthless fleece for something, anything in fact as long as it gives some advantage and profit.
