In reply to victorhearnyeat: I passed through on Wednesday and there was very little snow about. Any existing snow was confined to the summits and leeward slopes high on the mountain (well above 900m). I would anticipate the main routes will be free of snow by now and I doubt you will need an axe and crampons. Any existing snow patches are likely to be very soft!
No harm at all. Traversing Beinn a'Chreachain, Beinn Achaladair and Beinn Mhanach once on a largely snowless winters day I used crampons to safely negotiate areas of sheet ice after a wet spell followed by a quick freeze turned normally innocuous looking grassy hillsides into something demanding respect.
