My friends are too poor to go skiing this January, and my girlfriend has to work, but I really want to go for a 2 week ski holiday.

Can anyone recommend some good 'tour' group trips I can do, where I won't be all on my lonesome for 14 days?

Japan is closest to me, but I have heard that there are a few "Powder tours" being run in Canada.

Intermediate level alpine skier, beginner telemark skier.

My budget is about $4000-$4500 for accommodation, tour, gear, and food.

It might not be quite what you're after, but I've done a couple of 1-week trips with Jagged Globe and had a good time. You'd need to ask them yourself to see if their longer and more exotic 'adventure ski' trips were suitable for you.

Someone also pointed me at 40 Tribes recently... they have a 'solo travellers' booking section that might be of interest to you if you're willing to cross your fingers and hope for the best! http://40tribesbackcountry.com/small-groups-solo-travelers/
