Hi ,

On monday me and a mate are hoping to get out on some rock. problem being its looking wet and rainy, so just wanted somebody to recommend some rock routes that are ok in the wet/damp conditions. Either lakes , lancashire , peaks .

happy leading upto E1 in good/dry,single pitch.
mate climbs upto Severe.

we havent done much multi pitch so not looking for anything to hard. But would like to do something more than single pitch. even part scramble upto say severe .

any ideas would be good , we dont want a long walk in really either.

thanks

The forecast for Monday is really awful.

Multi-pitch climbs that are OK in lashing winter rain? Sorry, can't help you there.

Or wet scrambles ?
In reply to Chris Aston:

Got any tools? You could go drytooling...

In reply to Chris Aston:

We're talking severe weather warning - gales and lashing rain. Going out for a walk will be incredibly unpleasant.
In reply to Chris Aston:

There are a few routes at the all weather gym at hodge close that stay dry, I wouldn't make a long drive for them though. Bouldering at minus 10 and raven tor probably dry but tbh very little in your grade range if anything. Ever done any aid? Thors cave or some of the dovedale routes are fun. We learnt to aid on them as all the gear in insitu, just need to buy some etriers and daisychains each and your away!

In reply to Chris Aston:

bowfell buttress good in the wet if you can stick the walk up there ,corvus another one gives you a walk as well ..
In reply to Chris Aston: Pinndale Trouticle goes in wet weather, but you'll get wet going up the wall after the slab traverse (I speak from experience).

Crack and Corner at Stanage Popular?

In reply to Submit to Gravity:

In foulweather Green Crack at Stanage pop would be better. Once you top out the driving rain will wash off the the green slime you have accumulated on the way up! Had to wait three weeks this summer for it to be wet and slimy enough to justify an ascent!

ha ha
In reply to Chris Aston: If Monday's weather forecast is correct - heavy rain and gusts up to 80 mph in the Lake District - it may not seem such a bad idea.

it doesn't have to be Lake District : )

if the day is a total nightmare we may hit a indoor wall.
or something

thanks
