I have a DMM axe with two holes in the shaft I would quite like to fit a clipper leash attachment to. Unfortunately the proper DMM wire kit does not fit, presumably beacause my axe is the wrong batch (similar problems with picks in the past). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had rigged up a DIY arrangement with cord or something else and how that worked in practice. The axe is a xeno but I think the same issue would arise with a fly.

I just used a loop of cord through the axe head which you can clip into with a mini krab attached to leash.

Same here - threaded the cord through some heat shrink tubing and used a couple of tie wraps to hold the loop in position.

I have chord set up on my bd rages. Works a treat. Just a loop of 7mm tied through the top hole.

A mate tried to crimp a wire but wouldnt advise it as it failed.
