Hi, am looking for a general guidebook covering the alps 4000 and the updated Martin Moran (alps 4000)book looks good but as I'm an old git and the voie normals or other easy routes will be enough I'm tempted by the Richard Goedeke (alps 4000)book which would save a bit, any thoughts? Cheers

Have both. I'd pick MM over RG. Bigger selection of routes on each peak. And a bit more current.

Another vote for MM. It's more up-to-date than RG, has more routes in it (and at a guess, more easier ones are described), and is easier to use, I think.

The MM one is easier to follow and has multiple routes per peak. The RG one gives one route in detail then mentions some alternatives in passing. Similar size and weight!

thanks all, MM book in the post! Just the thing for a dreary winter
