Boot & axe hire near Sheffield

Hello all,

Does anyone know anywhere near Sheffield (or on the way to Scotland) where I can hire B2/B3 climbing boots and a pair of technical axes?

Or any other suggestions - I've heard by post is possible, does anyone have any experience of that?

Thank you for your suggestions... Google and Fort William are indeed both places to look, but it's the /near Sheffield/ part of my query which I had hoped to find advice on. We'd rather be on the approach to a route than waiting for a shop to open on Saturday morning.

Oh well...

North Wales (Plas y Brenin) might be the closest place to Sheffield, and even then not sure if they still do it. Scotland is the only place I know.

Thanks Have phoned most outdoor shops in Sheffield, Manchester & Leeds, I think you might be right; they hire boots and walking axes, though no technical axes.

Have managed to borrow instead!

Adventure Peaks do it in Ambleside, also by post. More on your way to Scotland than Wales I expect.
