I'm hoping to get over to the Queyras this weekend for a week or so and I'm looking for a good gite or cheap accommodation in the area for when we're not staying at a refuge.

I'll have the car, so can drive about, a kitchen would be handy to cook our own food.

Any advice appreciated, including ski and ice conditions, suggested routes etc!
Also, is it worth getting a reciprocal rights card? Looks like there is only one CAF hut, I need to check if any of the CAI ones are on suitable routes.

I've stayed in several gite d'étape in the Queyras but most (all ?) offer evening meals/breakfast & probably don't have a kitchen for guests .

This is often useful

This is on the edge of the Queyras but has good access.

http://www.alpineaccomodation.com It'll roll around as a premier post as well.

Thanks for the speedy feedback Doug, your link seems to be the best website for the area! I did spot a gite in Ceillac that has a user kitchen, but I didn't see any others.

I've now managed to book an apartment, at least for the first week in Ceillac, because her outdoors has managed to get a dose of the flu, so a Gite might not be the best option(for all concerned!) until she is on the mend.

Thanks for the other link Andy, looks like some great apartments if we had a bigger group, hopefully next year.
