I've just had news that I have the time off to go ski with a partner; she is already going on an organized week long trip with chalet and catering etc.

I would like to join for 4 nights, but am going to need to book my own accommodation etc. as there isn't room in the chalet.

I've been looking around and holy shit...is St. Anton expensive. Nobody seems that interested in a single person, renting a room for four nights either really.

Is there any way of doing this even remotely cheaply or should I just get my £1000 out of my sock drawer?

Almost certainly cheaper than anything in St Anton but maybe not to practical if you want to ski on the pistes (for us it well placed for the start of a ski tour)

From memory it was easy to reach along a XC ski trail
