Vittorio Emanuele Winter Hut (Grand Paradiso)

I'm hoping to ski the Grand Paradiso this week coming. Having looked on the Hut's website the summer accomadation isn't open until 20/3/14. Does anyone know if you need to/can book the unguarded winter hut?

I've done in from the Chabod before the main hut wasn't open and the winter quarters there are excellent.
