Lungser Kangri is a technically easy 6000m peak in the Rupshu region of Northern Ladakh, India. The best time to climb is July and early August.

If you're looking to attempt a first Himalayan peak, somewhere unusual, then this is a brilliant trip. You acclimatise first on the classic Markha Valley trek, which takes you up to 5,197m as you cross over the Zalung Karpo La. Then, you travel to base camp on Lungser Kangri, by the shores of lake Tso Morori. Above base camp, you'll use two camps, the highest at 6242m.

Here's a Trip Report by expedition leader, Neal Short, with a selection of high-quality photos: http://www.jagged-globe.co.uk/news/report.php?id=898
