I am seriously thinking of climbing Elbrus as a member of party, I will be 67 yrs in 2 weeks time and although a fit hill walker mountaineer with quite a bit of winter mountaineering experience in UK the most accent I have done is Marmolada in Dolomites. Anyone similar age group got any experience hints tips etc I would be grateful
(Political conditions permitting)

All I can say is that I have been on Huascaran with someone about your age and with a group of 'mature' gentlemen in their 60's over 5500m in Pakistan. Remember that Everest summiters include 'plenty' of old gits too..... even if they used bottled O2.

Contact Gary Hodgson of Tarmachan Mountaineering. He took a group there last year and would be well placed to advise you.
