Paklenica - self-catering accommodation recommendations?

Four of us (all blokes) are going to Paklenica next month. Can anyone who's been there recommend self-catering accommodation, please?

We'll be flying to Split and hiring a car. Again, if you can recommend (or warn!), that would be good.

Finally, I've not been there before (two of the others have) so if you have any general advice or tips to share I'd be very grateful.

Went a couple of years ago as a family of four to the following:

Not a bad place although could have benefited from air conditioning (it was August). Two minutes from beach and center of town.

Hired a car from Carhire300. They are a booking company but had no problems with the firm they used.

Cars: avoid oryx or whatever the local one is, they have a habit of finding tiny scratches on the car when you return it and trying to say you damaged it (happened to me more than once). sixt did me well last summer, cheap and professional. drive is about 2.5 hours and mostly highway.

For Paklenica you would be better flying to Zadar (nearest UK airport to you allowing) half an hours drive from the airport to Paklenica and Zadar is the single most relaxed airport I have ever been in. A joy to pass through.
We hired an apartment in Starigrad (can't remember which) but it was reasonable.

The grades in the main sports crag area can be a bit all over the place I found. The multi-pitch routes further up the gorge were great value (small rack needed). And for a "rest" day a walk up the Little Paklenica gorge and over to the main gorge was brilliant (lots of boulder scrambling and Font style red spots to follow).
Watch out for the centipedes!
