Guys please help.... Have arrived in Lake Garda for a camping/climbing/via ferrate holiday and it's just a tourist destination with rubbish family campsites. I have a car, can anyone suggest where we can head to to get some awesome multipitch trad or sport or long mountainous via ferrate? Is it too early in the season for what I'm trying to achieve? Only have a week with the girlfriend before she's back to afghan for another 3 months

??? Jump in your car and drive north for 5 minutes to see just how wrong you are...

In fact, drive North a few miles up to the Parette Zebrata bar in Dro, grab one of the numerous climbing guidebooks they have there for your use, and choose your week's entertainment over a nice cold beer while watching the plethora of rock around, people climbing, and base jumpers flying in and landing in front of you.

Campsites at Arco, via ferrata about 5 mins walk. Climbing the same.

We went here http://www.lake-garda-revealed.com/lake-garda-rock-climbing.html
Top of the lake - up past Riva.

Very helpful - lots of info, books maps etc.

Many many shops in Arco (5 mins north) which sell all the guidebooks. Park in the big carpark just off the main road and walk past the ice cream shop and Salewa shop to get into the centre of town.
