About to put cord on some hexes - am I right in thinking double fishermans is the right knot? How long roughly should the cord be? Cheers.

I have mine at about a half metre length when you pull the cord tight. So about 1.2 metres of cord. Double up when clipped on harness. Fishermans and tie knot inside hex.

Others shops and brands are available, might be a useful starting point.

Double fisherman's for the knot. I like the resulting loop to be about the same length as standard wires, this prevents the "cow bell effect" and also stops them clanking around your knees. Just use a QuickDraw to extend them as per a normal wire.

That's really helpful - thanks a lot!

No problem.

Might be worth using a triple fisherman's if making a knot in spectra/dyneema.

Cheers. Was wondering about 50cm of cord hanging off my harness. I think I might try somewhere between the two - trial and error I guess.
