Why do these crampons come with 2 different length front points? Is one supposed to be the heel spur? Is there any reason not to use them as dual front points? Any realistic advantage to using the longer/shorter one as a mono?

the longer point is a heel spur, not particular reason but you have a short stubby secod point meaning if you used both of them you'd have 3 front points…

Using the longer point as a single mono it would be good for ice, but bad for mixed. Ice it can stick in longer, mixed the longer point means your further away from the wall.

The longer point is actually a heel spur..but its good to fit as a mono if you know you are going to be climbing very featured or chandelier ice where the normal front points might not get much purchase.
