I'll be walking on Dartmoor this weekend for Scout hillwalking qualification assessment - is there anything I need to know other than it's going to be sopping wet underfoot? I've done about 8 full day's walking there in the past so it's only changes since the late 90's that I'm interested in. Unfortunately I don't know where I'll be going other than we start and finish at the Plume of Feathers.
On the ranges North of Princetown, I don't think anything has changed. No paths of any note, navigation's a bugger when the weather's bad but I think that's the point. Similarly pretty wild to the South East.
well it was wet - showers all day saturday, rain all night (the Devonport leat rose 6") and more showers in the morning. Puddles everywhere underfoot irrespective of being on a hilltop, side of hill or valley.
