hey guys, in the process of planning a trip to Kandersteg in the summer, can anyone recommend me a good guidebook to take out there ? rockfax don't seem to have one

For sport climbing above 6b, "Schweiz Extrem West" is the most obvious guidebook to recommend:

Some of the crags are in the UKC logbooks, under the Kandersteg area, but maybe not all of them.

The "Kletterführer Berner Voralpen" by the SAC (Swiss Alpine Club) should be a bit more specific to the area, but I haven't found a list of the crags covered by this guide.

Plaisir West covers sport routes at 4 crags ranging from 5a to 7c. It has an introduction to each crag in German, French and Italian, but route details are pictorial, so still useful even if your languages are not that great.

If staying at KISC then it would be worth asking the Programme Office if there are other local guides (many areas have them), or if not then asking at the Tourist Info Office.
