Im in north Wales very soon for a weeks multi pitch climbing, thinking of camping near Capel Curig. Can anyone recommend a campsite with good amenities with a pub near by.
My adivce would be to camp somewhere near the coast to avoid being midged to death at night. It's not that far to drive into the crags and the weather tends to be, well, less mountainous! somewhere on anglesey or down near porthmadog.
Just camp at Arthur's place - Dol Gam. On the A5 just before Capel as you come from Betswy and walking distance to a decent pub. There is a website. I think it's six quid these days.
If you want a good nights sleep, stay clear of Dol Gam. I have never stayed there when there hasn't been cars and lorries sounding their horns as they speed past all night.
