As part of a possible North to South Cuillin Ridge Traverse I am thinking of abseiling down from Am Bhasteir and then off the Bhastier Tooth. I am not keen on doing the full 30m abseil down the very exposed overhanging route right from the summit of the Tooth nor down the Kings Cave route which I am assume also needs a 60m or 50m rope. I am wondering whether I can abseil off the top of Naismith's Route down to the ledge. It looks like a 40m or even a 35m rope (which is sufficient for the abseil off the In Pinn) would be long enough. Has anyone any experience of this route off the Tooth?
