Hi,

Me and a friend are in the middle of organising a last minute couple of weeks in the alps at the end of june. We are thinking about doing the haute route or similar multi day trip, but was wondering what the best ideas are for kit storage?

We are flying and was hoping on spending little to no money on accommodation but from a quick search of the net it seems that one way is to book accom at each end of the trip and store in-between?

Are there any stations that have good cheap storage facilities?

The other idea was to travel with equipment ready to go, take no extra, leave the airport, transfer, straight onto the mountain and just smell for a week or so? (I personally like this idea) Anyone done this?

Any other ideas??

Any of the big hotels will take your bag, either informally for cheap or more formally for a set price.

I usually just dug a whole in the woodes, buried my kit and logged the location on my GPSdevice.
