Sketchy details so far. This was from a newsflash report in Desnivel coming from the Rangers station.
In a previous interview he did say he was going to try to ski down, and i assume he would use them in the way up when possible. This is standard practice in Denali anyway, though getting that time in snowshoes would be not just impressive, but a right laugh to watch...
Normally you can ski all the way to 11,000ft in the way up, and down from 14,000. The headwall and section below 17,000 would need extraordinary conditions, though it's been done. The way to Denali pass less so, and the summit ridge and football field could be possible if not icy.
