Hi All, after many years of faithfully service my Grivel 55 is sadly approaching the end, over enthusiastic transceiver searchers may well have been the last straw.
So I'm looking for a new multi day pack. I don't need a monster, I always got everything inside the 55ltr comfortably.
Is like a tidy pack (the Grivels only big negative was the number of wholly straps), that has compression, ideally could take skis on the sides and a couple of ice axes. If it has a removable lid that's ok, so long as it then does up drybag style. I'm not a huge fan of the airmesh back types also.

Thanks all
P.s. - I'll also be posting a climbing sack thread next.
In reply to Kelcat: POD Alpine 50?

It meets most of your criteria and whilst it's a general mountaineering sac rather than specifically a trekking/backpacking one, it has a good back system and carries weight better than most lightweight sacs. I've used mine for 4 day back-packing trips carrying 18-20kg and will happily do so again.

Cheers, I'll need to look that one up.
