If I could wait the "3-18 days" delivery (I need them in 5) I'd be all over this.

GO not sell them? Ive had price matches from them
Before where they've used prices from Amazon
 Blue Straggler 14 Jun 2014
In reply to anaesthetic:

I would guess at a clerical error, £16.16 being the price per single QD.

Could not resist it, ordered '2', I wonder how many I will receive!?

In reply to MaranaF:

You'll receive nothing but a refund and (probably) an "out of stock until further notice" message (at best, they will be honest and confess to a mistake). Your worst case scenario is that you have just paid £32.32 plus £10.95 p&p for two quickdraws!

In reply to anaesthetic:

I saw the exact same thing except it was a different website and different quickdraw.

I ordered 3 sets of 4 and I only ever got 3 quickdraws
 JJL 14 Jun 2014
In reply to anaesthetic:

I've ordered 3 (15 'draws) - and will let you know how it goes!

In reply to anaesthetic:

The north ridge quick draws sold at go outdoors are the very same just cheaper.

In reply to gethin_allen:

At the time that the OP was posted, the amazon listing showed these at £16.16 plus £10.95 for 5 QDs delivered. As expected, this has now been corrected.

Let this post of mine mark the end of any confusion on this thread!

... still not received a 'dear john....' but have had an order confirmation showing 2 sets of 5 so we will see, exciting isnt it!

In reply to MaranaF:

Yeah let's run a sweepstake
Good luck

In reply to anaesthetic:
The price has gone back up to £96.13, very pricey!!
I bet they have never seen them sell as fast as they did for an hour or two last night

Good luck to those who took a punt

Had a "we made a mistake and will send you 3" e-mail.

As they made an offer, and accepted my money, isn't there a contract?
 Blue Straggler 17 Jun 2014
In reply to JJL:

3 quickdraws at £16.16 each plus £10.95 postage?
 whenry 17 Jun 2014
In reply to JJL:
Technically, them putting the goods for sale on Amazon with a price is actually an invitation to treat. You clicking "buy" is the offer, which they accept when they take you money.

I'd agree that if they've taken your money before telling you that you only get three draws, you've got a case that they've accepted and must send you the sets.

But they'll probably refuse to acknowledge that and refund you.

In reply to JJL:

For a lot of online companies the contract is entered into when they deliver the goods, that is when the goods are exchanged for money. They are based in Germany anyway so best of luck!

Not expecting to get lucky - nor do I want to push a small retailer down; just interested in the actual position

The law isn't really interesting in making obvious typos legally binding - because that would suck in the long term. It makes more sense that contracts need to be entered into with the understanding of both parties.
In reply to andrewmcleod:

A contract also needs 'intent'. I doubt they intended to sell at that price.
See this page for a good summary (Pinsent Masons LLP are reputable):-

In reply to andrewmcleod:

Forgot. There is also case law around 'snapping up' an obvious error. Can't remember the case though.

In reply to cannichoutdoors:

That's interesting.

So the quite well-publicised cases recently of airlines mistakenly pricing tickets, but then honouring the pricing, are because the PR is good rather than because they had to?

On a side note, why doesn't 14 days cooling off apply to purchase of airline tickets - 24 hours seems to be the max?

Back on the original topic, I have now received a unilateral cancellation of the order as expected!
